A+ Handyman
You’ve got a ceiling fan in a box in the garage. An outlet that stopped working sometime last year. A light in the hall that flickers when the dryer runs.
None of that is a big enough job for most electrical contractors to bother with, which is why it’s been on the list for eight months. We do this work every day — licensed, insured, and with the same crew that handles the rest of your list while we’re there.
Fans and fixtures. Ceiling fans, including the ones going where no fan has ever been. Chandeliers, vanity lights, closet lights, exterior fixtures, recessed cans and the bracing above the ceiling that keeps a fan where you put it.
Outlets and switches. Replacements, additions, GFCI where code wants it, dimmers, outdoor weatherproof boxes, USB outlets. Three-way switches that never worked right since somebody “fixed” them.
Troubleshooting. A dead circuit, a breaker that trips for no obvious reason, a room that lost power after a storm. Finding the cause is most of the work; the repair is usually the short part.
Panels and service. Breaker replacement, panel labelling that reflects reality, dedicated circuits for a freezer, a window unit, a workshop, or the microwave that dims the lights.
Remodel electrical. The wiring inside a kitchen or bathroom job — under-cabinet lighting, island pendants, exhaust fans, appliance circuits. We don’t subcontract it out, which is why our kitchen and bath jobs don’t stall waiting on somebody else’s Thursday.
Outside. Exterior outlets, flood and security lighting, landscape lighting, garage and shop circuits.
Most of what goes wrong on small electrical jobs isn’t electrical. It’s the drywall nobody patched, the fixture that doesn’t sit flush because the box was never shimmed, the paint that doesn’t match around the new switch plate.
We do drywall, patching and paint too. So the outlet gets moved *and* the wall looks like nothing happened. That’s usually the difference between a job being finished and a job being over.
Most people call us for one thing and hand us three. That’s fine — that’s how this is supposed to work.
A+ Handyman has been in business 28 years and I’ve been in the trade 42. Class A contractor, VA licence #2705161701, insured and bonded through Erie, and voted Best Handyman in the Winchester Star ten years running.
We’re not a franchise, so you won’t get a different tech every visit. We’ve also done work for over 350 local businesses — the VA Clinic, Winchester OBGYN, Sportsman’s Warehouse — which is to say this isn’t our first panel.
